E.ON. merged its Romanian businesses into a single company

The new company will administer E.ON.’s business in Romania, worth over €1.1 billion, according to the latest data available on the market for 2007. The group’s global level strategy targets increasing the production capacity to 100,000 MW from 60,000 MW, and cutting CO2 per MWh emissions by 50 percent by 2030.

E.ON.’s investment plan in its Romanian network is worth RON 1 billion (€270 million) for 2008-2012, and includes the upgrading of 40 percent of this network in the coming years.

The group recently signed, with Termoelectrica and the Italian Enel company, an agreement for a new 800 MW mineral coal production capacity, following a total investment estimated at €1 billion.
