“Besides the price paid for the travel package, tourists must have at least €200 spending money for a week, an average for expenses,” according to ANAT spokesman Traian Badulescu.
The local travel industry is expected to increase 30 percent this year on the outgoing segment, while charter flights are to register up to 40 percent growth. On the incoming segment, estimated growth is only 10 percent.
“Romanians would rather go abroad. In most cases, Romania is more expensive. The price-quality ratio is better abroad,” said Calibra Travel’s Manager, Martin Bikfalvi.
As far as foreign tourists are concerned, some 120,000 people are expected to come to Romania, especially from Germany, France and Austria.
