The company’s General Manager, Dan Caprioara, attributes the increase to demand for construction materials, especially in the first three quarters in 2008, bringing these materials closer to Elpreco’s clients through a national network of over 250 partners.
The aircrete segment made up over 50 percent of the company’s turnover last year.
The company is expecting a 10 percent slowing of growth this year, due to the blockage on economic and financial markets, which will also affect the Romanian construction market, by limited foreign investments and a sharp drop in loans.
Elpreco will allocate up to €5 million in 2009 for the modernization and maintenance of existing production lines.
CRH took over control of Elpreco Craiova in 2007, for over €70 million. The company’s main competitors on the local aircrete market are Celco Constanta, Macon Deva and Prefabricate Vest Bucuresti.
