Enel’s business in Romania worth €555 mln in 2007

Enel, the largest private investor on the local energy distribution and supply market, with an 11 percent market share in energy supply and 15 percent in distribution, will take over Electrica Muntenia Sud, owned by energy distribution and supply company Electrica. Enel paid €820 mln for this privatization, which will increase its market share to 21 percent for supply and 27 percent for distribution.

Enel’s investments in Romania totaled €108 mln in 2007, according to company representatives. Carlo Tambur, Director of the International Division, said that Enel plans to become the first integrated company in the Romanian energy sector.
