“The Energy Holding thermal energy plant will be built in the locality of Sardanesti, Gorj County. The company has obtained the necessary approvals to carry out technical and feasibility studies, according to a declaration for Business Standard by sources on the energy market.
Representatives of Energy Holding opted not to comment on the information, stating that the company is presently carrying out a feasibility study, which will determine the optimal capacity for the new unit.
The company already produces energy, after it acquired five micro-hydro plants from the country’s largest producer, Hidroelectrica, in 2004, along Topolog river, becoming one of the main private “green” energy producer in Romania. The plants have an installed capacity of some 6 MW, with an average production of energy of 8,000 MWh/year.
