The contract with the Turceni energy complex was one of the most important ones for Energoconstructia this year, worth some €20 mln. The company signed several contracts with Electrocentrale Bucuresti electricity producer, Craiova and Turceni energy complexes, the National Investment Company, and some local institutions.
Technical Manager Constantin Tabacaru says the company estimates a 27 percent rise in turnover in 2008, to RON 203 mln (€58.02 mln), due to contracts and investments made in activity segments (civil and industrial construction, water networks, sewerage lines). Energoconstructia posted turnover worth RON 180 million (€53 mln) in 2007.
The company decided to abandon the construction of its own real estate project, due to market instability in the first six months of the year, and will sell the land on which it intended to build the project for some €35 mln. Tabacaru said the funds from this transaction will be invested in equipment, but added that the company could build a smaller real estate project
