Ernst & Young: Romania is best 2008 investment destination

Romania thus maintains its leading position from 2007. Furthermore, the country leads the ranking as far as half of business location criteria are concerned.

Some two thirds of investors questioned for the study (67 percent) said the investment environment has improved in the past three years in the region.

Romania is followed by Turkey, Bulgaria and Greece in the Ernst & Young ranking.

“Last year, Romania had a 58 percent score, but it dropped this year to 52 percent. However, Turkey’s performance improved, obtaining a score of 50 percent,” according to Ernst & Young’s Senior Manager, Fabrice Reynaud. Bulgaria’s score was 40 percent.
The regiona’s least attractive place is considered to be Cyprus, with a mere 9 percent.
