Erste Sparinvest, the Austrian group’s investment company, owns 61.37 million Petrom shares, or 0.11 percent of the oil company, worth €6.6 mln according to yesterday’s quotation.
As such Erste is Petrom’s eighth-largest shareholder, after Austrian OMV Group, which controls the local oil company, the Authority for State Asset Recovery (AVAS), the state-owned Proprietatea fund, the Julius Baer and East Capital investment funds, and two financial investment companies SIF Oltenia and SIF Moldova.
Of companies listed on BVB, Erste also owns stocks worth a total €13.6 mln in BRD Groupe Societe Generale, Banca Transilvania, state-owned electricity distributor Transelectrica, and real estate developer Impact, according to data available on the market.
Erste Sparinvest, the second-largest asset management company in Austria, was administering assets worth €30.2 billion by the end of 2007.
