EU could eliminate carbon dioxide emission quotas as of 2013 for energy companies

The European Union is analyzing the possibility of eliminating carbon dioxide emission quotas for energy companies as of 2013, according to a declaration Monday by representatives of the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development.

Representatives went on to explain that energy companies will be obliged to acquire the right to emit carbon dioxide, which will lead to an increase in prices for oil products, electricity and heating.
