“The contract with CASMB will lead to a 30-50 percent drop in hospital fees. We signed this contract because citizens contribute to the National Health Insurance Fund and they must benefit from a reduction,” said CEO Euroclinic, Catalin Popa.
For hospitalization which does not involve surgery, fees will drop 50 percent, while that requiring surgical intervention will be 30 percent less expensive. The contract with CASMB relates to hospitalization for surgical and non-surgical cases, and not ambulatory services. Popa believes that in future private hospital operators will have to find new sources of financing, because the number of clients willing to pay care per medical service will drop.
Euroclinic was established three years ago, following a €10 million investment, and its hospital is part of the Medisystem clinics network.
