Eurolines estimates 20% growth in 2008

Last year, turnover from ticketing rose 49 percent, international transportation registered 19 percent growth, while tourism services increased 17 percent. Some 75 percent of the company’s business is made up of transport operations.

The company has budgeted investments worth €7.7 mln this year, to open new branches in Bucharest, buy a VIP bus to be available for rent by mid-2008, and acquire and develop software products.

Last year, Eurolines had some 145,000 passengers, 19 percent higher than in 2006, with main destinations Germany, Spain, Italy, France and Benelux.

The company’s main competitor on the transportation market is Atlassib, with business worth some €90 mln in 2007.
