“The negative evolution of these indicators was caused by fewer transports to Spain,” due to a decline in demand, Eurolines co-owner, Dragos Anastasiu, said. Furthermore, fuel expenses rose 14 percent.
Eurolines Romania’s profit amounted to €1.4 million, at the holding level. According to Anastasiu, earnings came from passengers and goods transportation service sales, bus leasing, airline ticket sales, and other operations, such as taxi services.
The company’s main competitor, Atlassib, registered stagnation in revenues in the first three quarters of 2008, due to higher fuel expenses.
