As of 1 September, clients of the “Rabla” program, which offers subsidies to those wanting to trade in their old car for a new one, will be able to acquire leased cars and light commercial vehicles, according to an ordinance by the Ministry of the Environment published in the Official Gazette. So far, the program was only addressing those who were able to purchase a car through own funds.
Officials of the Dacia car maker said that, even though the market will receive an extra boost, demand will not rise significantly. The total number of cars for the renewal of the national auto park increased to 60,000 units this year from 40,000 units in 2008, and the trade-in value climbed to RON 3,800 (some €900)
