Fast-food restaurants to recruit over 1,000 people in 2009

McDonald’s alone will recruit some 400-500 people, Irina Panaite, Human Resource Manager of McDonald’s Romania, told Business Standard. “This is the number of people we need to support restaurant openings planned for 2009, which vary from 6 to 10. Moreover, we will recruit to cover for personnel turnover, which halved compared to last year,” Panaite said.

Officials of the Burger King restaurant chain said they intend to recruit some 250 commercial workers and 50 manager trainees by April 2010. Burger King plans to open nine locations in the near future. Personnel turnover was 10 percent in January, down some six percent compared to the previous month, according to company officials.

KFC Romania intends to recruit some 240 people in 2009, about 20 persons per month for its 33 restaurants, to cover staff turnover, which dropped to some 20 percent in the past few months, from about 40 percent.
