“Romania had sustainable growth from 2004-2008. Budget spending for transportation will amount to €4.55 billion in 2008, while 2009-2013 must be the time for infrastructure,” Vosganian added.
Speaking of the next four years, the Minister said Romania is likely to attract a total of €250 million in investments during 2009-2013. Half of those investments are to be made by companies, securing a sound 5-6 percent annual economic growth.
“Of the total investments in Romania, €35-40 billion will be foreign direct investments, a further €60-70 million will come from the state budget, €18-20 billion will be investments in the energy sector, €25-28 billion will be contributions from the EU, and €120 billion will be investments made by companies with Romanian or foreign capital,” Vosganian said.
