Ford also requested that Romanian authorities expand the capacity of Craiova’s airport, to enable the landing of planes transporting components, and the finalizing of the Craiova-Pitesti highway. Another request by the US car maker was the building of a customs point inside the factory to simplify import-export procedures.
According to Dolj County Council representatives, 256 hectares belonging to a former military unit would be necessary to expand the airport.
