"We believe that this choice is mainly due to Romanians saving small amounts of money," according to the FGDSB Manager, Alexandru Matei.
Some 21.3 percent of those questioned say they prefer RON deposits, while a further 11.9 percent prefer RON current accounts, and 8.8 percent prefer RON debit cards. Only 4.3 percent of Romanians would rather save in euro deposits, and a further 2.3 percent are investing their savings in shares.
The poll was carried out by social studies institute Metro Media Transilvania on 2,000 people over the age of 18 in 166 cities and villages, and has a +/-2.3 percent error margin.
