“There are numerous investors from a variety of areas. While some have quit Romania, there could be other funds looking for possibilities to invest. I am expecting European region funds to become more active in the coming period, as these are less affected by the crisis,” said Iulian Panait, President of KTD Invest.
Foreign investment funds began selling Romanian shares in mid-2007, with only October registering more acquisitions, according to BVB data. Since the beginning of this year, these sold Romanian shares worth €67.8 mln, of which €57 mln in January alone.
In March, the most active players were local investors, who acquired shares amounting to €124.28 mln, while sales were worth €115.71 mln.
According to BVB data, clients of brokerage companies made net investments of Erste Bank shares worth €1.8 mln. Data for Erste Bank is listed in a newly-introduced aggregated account stock exchange section.
