“SEEA Polymers’ goal is to be active on the polystyrene market, one of the markets with the greatest potential worldwide,” said Cristiana Pariza, head of development at SEEA Polymers.
Ineos Nova and SEEA Polymers signed a letter of intent to establish a joint venture to build and operate a new factory for expandable polystyrene in Medgidia, whose production capacity will be an annual 100,000 tons as of 2009. The Black Sea location of the factory is considered to be strategic from a logistics point of view, allowing a substantial cut in transport costs.
Cristiana Pariza said that the factory will produce not only for the Romanian market, but also for export.
“The factory will deliver a complete range of products, and we want it to be the most competitive in Europe in terms of prices,” said Martin Pugh, Ineos Nova’s Managing Director Europe.
