For 2007, the management is counting on €28 million worth of business, up one quarter year-on-year, due to the expansion of its network of stores and a wider range of products. Fornetti Romania has budgeted investments worth €1.5 million for 2007.
Fornetti, present on the Romanian market since 2001 as partner of the Hungary-based Fornetti Kft., currently has 550 stores, most of them in Bucharest. The network will exceed 600 units by the end of 2007, said company officials. "The company has a 60 percent share of the Romanian pastry market, including small neighborhood shops," said Ioan Magheti, Public Relations Manager of Fornetti Romania. Investments on the local market amount to some €8 million to date, mostly in Fornetti's Timisoara factory, which produces an annual 13,000 tons of pastry. Fornetti pastry shops operate within the franchise system. Partners invest on average €3,500 for each shop (for rental of ovens) to which is added the cost of space. Each unit has an average of two ovens which can produce a daily 100 kg of pastry. The company offers personnel training and consultancy services to its partners.
