Trident Plaza complex will unfold over more than 130,000 square meters, following a 100 million euros investment. Carrefour rented a surface of 6,500 square meters of which 4,000 square meters represent the sale surface.

Trident Plaza will include a shopping gallery, two office buildings, a four-star hotel with 250 rooms and 1,400 parking places. The complex will be located downtown Constanta, near the beach and cliff. Constructors target to attract 10 million viewers annually.

Carrefour Group's revenues stood at 97.4 billion euros in 2006. The company had 1,108 hypermarkets, 2,659 supermarkets, 6,000 hard-discount stores and 4,700 shops worldwide at the end of September and some 456,000 employees in 30 countries.

Carrefour Romania saw sales of 609 million euros last year, a 39 percent hike from 2005. The company estimates sales to increase 10-15 percent this year.
Carrefour invested more than 250 million euros in its Romanian units since entering the market in 1998.
