“It is very difficult to find good sales people, able to understand the product, explain its benefits and speak foreign languages, because most of our sales are made abroad,” the company’s CEO, Oana Bornaz, said.
According to the CEO, the company plans to employ 26 people by the end of the year. Gecad Technologies personnel increased 13 percent since the beginning of this year.
“We plan to hire people from abroad for sales, to manage various world regions and work from their locations. They will undergo training in the company and come to Romania periodically,” Oana Bornaz said. She added that the personnel deficit in the field will only narrow when universities generate more IT specialists or when salary claims rise to such an extent that companies decide to relocate to less costly countries.
Several IT companies are recruiting specialists from abroad, especially Moldova, Poland, the Czech Republic or Germany, because they are either cheaper or more skilled, according to Oana Bornaz.
