The Romanian market has become the second market, following Russia, where group sales reached €48.7 mln. Gedeon Richter owns a drug factory in the northern city of Targu Mures, and a 165-strong pharmacy retail company, Gedeon Richter Farmacia. The group also owns Armedica Trading, a company for development strategies, and 50 percent of Westpharma, an information technology service company.

Gedeon Richter Romania posted sales worth €6.9 mln, 46.8 percent higher year-on-year, while the distribution and sales by its retail division amounted to €33.2 mln, compared to €5.1 mln in 2007.
