Germanwings: We are developing in Romania because of its potential

“In the coming two years, the Romanian low cost market will be subject to dynamic development. Romania has become very attractive to foreign investors, especially after it joined the European Union,” said PR Manager Germanwings, Andreas Engel.

The company official believes that traffic between Romania and European countries will intensify in the coming years. Flights Germanwings plans to operate this summer will increase passenger numbers by 15 percent to and from Romania. “As of this month, we will fly the Cluj-Koln/Bonn route. Furthermore, in summer, we will operate new Stuttgart-Bucharest and Berlin-Bucharest flights,” added Engel.

Last year, the company had three flights a week from Bucharest to Koln, with an average 80 percent occupancy rate and 26,000 passengers. The Germanwings operational is in Koln and it has 27 Airbus aircraft. The company flies to 60 destinations in Europe.
