Romanian Prime Minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu yesterday met with his British counterpart, within an official visit made in the UK. The two officials discussed about strengthening economic ties between their countries and military cooperation within the missions both countries are part of.

Britain imposed entry barriers for both Romanian and Bulgarian unskilled workers, until the end of 2008. Tariceanu said after the meeting he expects the British companies in the industry and banking fields to approach Romania in the near future. “It is not always necessary to focus on Asia and if you would turn to South-East Europe you may find better-than-expected conditions,” Tariceanu said. In his turn, Brown talked about migration and said Romania faces a challenge: that of having qualified labor force within the country.
