Sales have already risen 25 percent in the first four months of 2008, said General Manager Tone Prislan. He added that the household appliance market will continue to increase. According to company data, Gorenje has a 5-6 percent market share.
Gorenje imports some 300 household appliances in Romania, distributed in over 1,000 stores.
Some 50 percent of total sales are through independent stores, while the rest are through hypermarkets or Romanian stores selling electronic and household appliances, such as Altex, Domo and Flanco.
The majority of products sold in Romania come from Slovenia.
