Grampet owns 55 percent of Poiana Ciucas, with the remaining stock belonging to several individuals. The company plans to increase the hotel’s level of comfort to five stars, from its current two stars.
According to data published in the Official Gazette, Grampet will borrow €10 million from lender OTP Bank to finance the investment. The loan has a 12 years maturity.
The move is part of a strategy announced by the company last year to invest in the hotel segment. At that time, Grampet officials were discussing investments in the Brasov hotel system, said to have development potential in the coming years.
Grampet is set to post some €350 million in turnover, 30 percent higher year-on-year. The company is interested in the development of railway transportation regionally, according to one of Grampet’s shareholders, Vasile Didila. “We currently have a transport operator in Hungary and Bulgaria and, as of next year, will have one in Serbia as well,” Didila added.
