Hamé buys two more canned food factories

According to sources on the market, two of Hamé’s targets are the canned food factory in Buftea and Radacini in Fetesti (Ialomita County), worth some €20-25 million. The facility in Buftea is valued at some €23 million. The Fetesti factory specializes in processing fruits and vegetables, as well as vegetable sauces, ketchup and mustard.

“Hamé Romania registered 18 percent higher turnover in H1 2007 compared to the same period last year,” Hamé General Manager, Leos Novotny, said in a company press release. The company estimates that business in 2007 will increase by 30 percent year-on-year, when turnover amounted to some €15 million.

Hamé Romania opened its first factory in Romania in June, specialized in meat processing. The Caracal factory, where the company made an eight million euro investment, will have a production capacity of 8,000 tons, and the product range includes patés, canned meats and prepared foods. The company’s production in 2007 will reach some 5,200 tons. Hamé produces and distributes ketchups, patés, canned meats, prepared foods, vegetable products, mixed fruits, jams, stewed fruits and baby foods on the Romanian market.
