Health Ministry approves a protocol for emergency triage

“This protocol has been prepared to be passed. We worked on this for over six months and studied various protocols in effect in a number of states, in order to establish which one is the best to be applied in Romania,” said Raed Arafat, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Health, in a declaration for Business Standard.

Last week, Health Minister Ion Bazac approved the National Triage Protocol for emergency room patients, which establishes a model of triage for emergency cases, to ensure that persons that are most critical are always given priority.

“We need clear rules and laws in hospitals, as only in this way can we prevent a repetition of cases similar to that in Slatina. In this way I reiterate one of the priorities of my mandate, namely the introduction of therapeutic guides and protocols,” said Bazac.
