Heidi posted business worth €13.5 million last year. “Performances are in accordance with the budget and we maintain growth estimations between 20 percent and 25 percent, depending on sales during the Christmas holidays. We will launch new products in H2 and we will intensify the advertising campaign,” said General Manager Erwin Vondenhoff.
Heidi Chocolats Suisse has a production unit near Bucharest, where it plans to invest some €1 million for expansion. Chocolate sales make up 50 percent of total sales, while pralines and season products each hold a 25 percent share.
The total sweets market amounted to some €240 million last year in Romania, according to research company Nielsen, 25 percent higher on 2006. The main players on the market are Cadbury-Kraft Foods Romania, Heidi Chocolats Suisse and Supreme Chocolat.
