The Heineken brand was the bestseller, with a 26 percent hike in sales. Other brands, such as Ciuc, Golden Brau, and Bucegi, registered single-digit growth. Heineken Romania’s portfolio also includes the Zipfer, Edelweiss, Gosser, Schlossgold, Silva, Neumarkt, Gambrinus, Harghita, and Hategana brands.
Heineken Romania recently acquired local brewer Bere Mures, with the integration process to be finalized in early April. The company will continue investments in its production units and brands, company officials said. Since the Bere Mures acquisition, Heineken has five factories in Romania.

The local beer market is worth some €1.7 billion, with sales amounting to 20.2 million hectoliters annually, according to the Romanian Brewers Association.
The top players on the market are Heineken, Ursus Breweries, InBev, URBB, European Drinks, and Romaqua.
