Henri Coanda Airport to list on BVB by year-end

The Ministry of Transportation has already launched proceedings for a 5 percent stock listing. “There is a program of measures we must comply with, but it is likely that the airport will be listed by year-end. It all depends on when we have all the necessary approvals and how soon we determine what company will broker the listing,” Tara told Business Standard.

In the case of national gas transportation company, Transgaz, listing proceedings lasted more than one year. The Economy Ministry selected the broker by mid- 2006, but the initial public offer (IPO) was only launched in November 2007.

The deadline for bids from brokerage companies is March 28, while the bid envelopes will be opened on March 31.

Tara does not rule out an increase of the listed stock package, once Romania’s largest airport is traded on BVB.

The Manager’s statement came one day after the government cancelled a previous decision to establish a national airport company through a merger of Bucharest’s two airports, Henri Coanda and Baneasa-based Aurel Vlaicu International Airports.
