Romania’s largest energy producer, state-owned Hidroelectrica, is to revise its revenues and expenses budget for this year, doubling gross profit to €17 million, compared to the €8.5 million initial estimate, and increasing revenues to €650 million, the company’s General Manager Traian Oprea told Business Standard.
Last year, Hidroelectrica posted €66.3 mln in gross profit and €617 million in revenues. As for 2008, Oprea said final results could exceed the budgeted figures. “Profit will certainly be higher, up to RON 100-200 million [€28.5-34 mln],” he said.
The company estimates energy production will amount to some 16.8 TWh in 2008, some 6 percent higher year-on-year.
