Oprea said that the funds attracted from the company listing on Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) will be used to modernize existing power plants and build new units.
Beside the stock exchange listing, the company also considers issuing bonds worth €150-200 million on foreign capital markets, with a 5-year yield. “The financial markets have been shaken worldwide and a bond issue could be more profitable than a loan,” Oprea said.
The company plans to invest in excess of €300 mln this year, of which less than €200 mln are the company’s own funds. “We plan to borrow some €100-120 million,” Oprea added.
