Holcim posted 28 percent growth in 2007

"We registered significant progress in 2007, in all three areas of sustainable development: economic growth, environmental protection, and social accountability. As such, we continued and succeeded to offer quality products and services, and the growth in our cement production can be seen in 15,000 family homes throughout Romania," according to Holcim Romania's General Manager, Markus Wirth.

Holcim invested €123 mln in a series of projects for the modernization of its production technology, environmental protection, business development, health, and work safety, social projects, and human resources.

In 2006, Holcim Romania posted RON 207 mln (€55 mln) in gross profit, 41 percent higher than 2005, and turnover of RON 774.7 mln (€207 mln), up 30 percent year-on-year. (George Sarcinschi)
