“More than 90 percent of our clients are Romanians, because expats spend their holidays abroad,” said Dina Litzica, PR&Marketing Manager of the JW Marriott hotel.
Of the 1,000 seats offered by Marriott for the New Year’s Eve party, only some 30 are still available. The price of a package for the New Year’s Eve party starts at RON 890 (some €230) for person and Marriott expects some €230,000 in revenue.
According to officials of the InterContinental hotel, foreign clients who have chosen this company’s services include expats who have to stay in Bucharest and foreign tourists who came through travel agencies.
“The occupancy rate in this period is lower than throughout the year. This is why I think we will register a 30 percent occupancy rate during the holidays,” said Dana Chiriac, Marketing&PR Manager of InterContinental, adding that 75 percent of the tickets for the New Year’s Eve party have already been sold.
According to officials of Radisson SAS, the largest five-star hotel in Bucharest, this unit will offer 600 seats for the Christmas and New Year’s Eve parties, at special prices. “We are offering a 10 percent discount for every ticket for the New Year’s Eve party, and a free seat for every 10-person table,” said Ramona Gaman, the hotel’s PR Coordinator. Prices range from RON 790-980 (some €200-260).
