“Inflation in the first part of the year affected initial budgets, which is why we registered this drop. I think there will be major pressure also on wages as of September, and we thus expect decreases in the second half of the year. We are already working on a strategy to diminish the effects of this crisis,” said Tinu Sebesanu, CEO of Trend Hospitality, the company that manages the Romanian business of the Wyndham chain.
The Manager of Howard Johnson Grand Plaza, Peter Craig Martin, recently said he plans to increase the occupancy rate by up to 7 percent this year. The hotel has 285 rooms and apartments, a conference center, and several other facilities.
Howard Johnson will be subjected to a rebranding process and will operate under a different name. The hotel was opened in 2004, following an investment worth €30 million.
