Hudson: A "battle for talent" to double turnover in 2008

"In the past few years, we had annual growth of some 50 percent. Our estimates for turnover in 2008 is approaching $1.5 million [some €1 mln]," says Stephen Moroz, Country Manager for Hudson Romania. According to Moroz, the battle between companies for employees with potential and an increase in HR advisory services will powerfully influence the recruiting business.

"The battle for talent is the main trend in the recruiting industry. As far as we are concerned, talent management services make up 20 percent of total turnover, while the ratio of recruitment services represents 80 percent," Moroz said.

The company plans to expand this year and develop new services on the local market. According to Hudson, it will double the number of its employees by the end of 2008.

A lack of employees forces companies to use motivational tools for employees.

"There will be an increase in traditional recruiting and selection services, as well as organizational development, employee evaluation, coaching and outplacement," Moroz believes.

According to him employers will have to focus on employees with potential and high performance.

"There will be increasing opportunities of jobs on the local market, that is not matched by available people. In terms of the battle for talent, only companies who evaluate their employees and properly administer their careers will succeed in winning," Moroz said.

Hudson is in permanent collaboration with its Research and Development office in Belgium. The company develops recruitment projects with Hudson branches around the world.
