Human Invest: company training budgets go unspent

The number of training program providers is very low compared to the need of compa- nies to train their staff. Even the most important players on the market are still at a "boutique" level. "There are about 50 senior trainers on the Romanian market and we all know each other. We are trying to  attract some freelancers to  Human Invest," says Viorel  Panaite, Partner of the training company.  Such companies are unable to expand their business as there are few professional trainers in Romania, and this might also constitute a problem for foreign training companies.

The domestic training market is worth some €30 mil- lion, according to Panaite's estimates. Companies may allocate large amounts, even as much as €2 million for a project  lasting several months.  Daily  fees for training companies can reach €1,000-2,500. "A training company manager must always maintain a balance between professional capacities and the number of programs it develops.  If one wants to provide quality courses, one cannot have volume too," said the Human Invest representative. Ideally, a trainer cannot organize more than six or seven courses every month, because he is obliged to develop projects in the remaining time. For some highly specialized courses on finance or marketing, Human Invest calls on collaborators. "While a training assistant makes €100-200 for team building, a top specialist can make €500-800 for a day of training," said Panaite.
