The hydro power plant posted daily gross profit exceeding RON 1 million (€273,000). This means Hidroelectrica’s profit during the first four months of 2008, at RON 12.5 mln (€3.7 mln), is almost 13 times higher than that in Q1 2007. According to Oprea, the company produced 8 Twh in the first five months of 2008, more than half than the production planned for this year.
Hidroelectrica expects profit worth €8.9 mln this year, some 2.5 times lower than in 2007.
The company’s revenue in the first four months of 2008 amounted to RON 770.2 mln (€213.4 mln), up 34 percent in the same period last year.
