According to Dica, the company plans to have 640 MW in 2011, a further 500 MW in 2013, and to finalize installing the last turbines, with a total capacity of 360 MW, in 2015. “This is the largest wind energy project in Romania,” the company official added.
The latest financial report of Iberdrola indicates that the Spanish company signed an agreement with Eolica Dobrogea Elvetia at the beginning of 2008, for the acquisition of a portfolio of some 50 wind farm projects totaling 1,600 MW, in eastern Romania. “About 50 percent of these projects have already been started,” said the quoted report. The value of the transaction was between €200-300 million when the agreement was signed, but this depends on the final installed capacity of the wind parks.
