“Until we rise to a liquidity of at least €10 million, we cannot talk about a comeback or an increase in the degree of participation on the market. We are presently in a period dominated by a lack of interest for risky investments” said Operation Manager of IFB Finwest broker, Sorin Carstea.
In last week’s final session, total liquidity on the stock market amounted to RON 10.6 mln (€2.5 mln). BET-FI, the index of financial investment companies, gained on Friday 1.5 percent, while BET, the index of top ten shares in terms of liquidity rose 1.1 percent.
Brokers’ hopes regarding a comeback of the interest for the local equities market are mainly related to the announcement of the first financial results of 2009.
