IKEA posts turnover worth €87 mln in its first year in Romania

IKEA Romania had over 2.7 million visitors in the first year. PAX wardrobe combinations were the best-selling items, at 18,100 units. According to IKEA representatives, the best sold products in accessories were 365 plus kitchen ware products, at over 70,000 units.

"We expect sales to double in the short-run and intend to open other stores in cities with over 300,000 inhabitants. At present we cannot say when we will initiate the investment, because we have not acquired the land, and have not signed a contract," said IKEA Romania's General Manager, Cornel Oprisan. According to Oprisan, cities targeted for investment include Constanta, Galati, Iasi, Cluj-Napoca, Brasov and Bucharest. (NewsIn)
