Indexes on the Bucharest Stock Exchange advance on closing in line with the European stocks

Liquidity slumped 16 percent to 19.18 million lei (5.14 million euros) from 22.95 million lei in the previous session.

The main European bourses posted moderate hikes too. The FTSE index in London gained 1.07 percent to 5,763.30, the DAX index in Frankfurt rose 1.66 percent to 6,643.54 and the CAC40 index in Paris climbed 1.48 percent to 4,776.93.

In Romania, the BET index measuring the market’s ten top performers gained 1.23 percent to 7,005.29 and the BET-C index assessing all listed shares minus investment funds grew 1.19 percent to 5,023.91.The ROTX index for trading blue-chips in Vienna advanced 1.30 percent to 15,859.19. The BET-FI index tracking the five investment funds known as SIFs rose 1.57 percent, to 53,540.65.

Shares of SIF Moldova (SIF2) were the most liquid yesterday with trades of 3.53 million lei and inched 0.84 percent to 2.40 lei, followed by SIF Oltenia (SIF5) with deals of 1.99 million lei and gained 1.75 percent to 2.91 lei.

SIF Muntenia (SIF4) rose 1.86 percent to 1.64 lei. SIF Banat-Crisana (SIF1) gained 1.20 percent to 2.53 lei. SIF Transilvania (SIF3) hiked 2 percent to 1.53 lei.

Second lender by assets, BRD SocGen (BRD) advanced 1.49 percent to 20.40 lei. Erste Bank, listed on the international tier of the BSE, increased 1.56 percent to 156 lei. Fifth lender by assets Banca Transilvania (TLV) inched 0.68 percent to 0.7350 lei.

Drug maker Biofarm (BIO) advanced 6.07 percent to 0.3320 lei. Drug maker Antibiotice Iasi increased 5.88 percent to 1.44 lei.

Shares of harbor services provider Socep Constanta (SOCP) dropped 1.58 percent to 0.3120 lei.
