The decision was made amid continuing expansion of the overall Romanian banking system and significant personnel fluctuation. However, the trend of bank employees to migrate from one lender to another is not necessarily a bad thing, according to ING Bank’s Human Resources Manager, Manuela Dragomir.
“There are cases in which fluctuation can be seen as a sign of the maturation of the employers, who are beginning to focus on quality rather than quantity,” she said.
Other banks are also expected to increase their personnel. The number of employees in this sector is poised to reach 80,000 by the end of the year, from 70,000 in 2007.
INB Bank is the seventh-largest in Romania, in terms of assets. It has 140 self bank units and 25 wholesale banking units, and currently employs some 1,000 people.
