The lender is to publish its financial results today. Initial estimates, however, indicate that some RON 20 mln (€5.3 mln) in net profit, significantly less than in 2007, according to a forecast made by ING Bank Romania’s General Manager, Misu Negritoiu, last November, for Business Standard.
ING Bank ranks 10th in the local banking system, with €3 billion in assets in 2007. This year, the bank is planning for 25-30 percent growth in assets, in line with the average market growth. ING’s profit for 2008 is likely to be higher compared to last year’s earnings, due to the development of the retail sector, Negritoiu said.
