In February 2008, the turnover on retail trade rose 8.3 percent compared to January, and by 23.5 percent compared to the same month in 2007, said INS. In the first two months in 2008, compared to the same period in 2007, turnover on retail trade increased 18.3 percent.
Turnover on foodstuffs, drinks and tobacco rose 17.1 percent, while non-foodstuffs increased 0.6 percent. Turnover for wholesale and retail trade, car and motorcycle maintenance and repair, and on the sale of fuel for cars all rose in February 17.6 percent compared to January 2008.
On the other hand, turnover for services for the population dropped 0.4 percent in February 2008, compared to the first month of this year.
Compared to the first two months in 2007, turnover on retail trade rose 23.5 percent in February 2008. The rise was sustained by the sale of non-foodstuffs, which rose 27.8 percent, and of food, drinks and tobacco, which advanced 18.8 percent.
In terms of all of trade (wholesale and retail), car and motorcycle maintenance, and the sale of automotive fuels rose 37 percent, sustained mainly by the sale of cars, rose 47.3 percent in February 2008 compared to the same month in 2007. (NewsIn)
