Interamerican Romania, 30% growth in 2007

The health insurance segment registered the most significant growth, of 159 percent, with €2 mln in gross subscribed premiums. This evolution led to a total 46 percent increase on the general insurance segment, of €11 mln.

The life insurance segment registered an 18 percent rise, up to €9.7 mln, due to 40 percent growth of unit-linked insurance.

Interamerican is already operating on the mandatory private pension market (Pillar II of the pension system) and plans to enter the Pillar III optional pension market also.

On Pillar II, the fund managed by Interamerican Pensii ranks fifth, with some 264,000 subscribers and 6.35 percent in market share. “Success on the private pension market contributes vitally to Interamerican’s further development,” said Interamerican Romania’s CEO, Frans van der Ent, who is also Country Manager of Eureko in Romania.
