Some 50 percent of employees are hired through internal recommendations and 25-30 percent are hired online. “Through online recruiting we are targeting Romanians who have worked on cruise ships, managed to raise enough money, and want to return to Romania,” says Jascau.
Although Romanians with cruise ship experience demand higher salaries, Jascau says it is more profitable to hire them, because they are accustomed to certain working procedures. The investment to train an employee amounts to several thousand euro. “The offer of professional schools does not meet market demand,” says Jascau.
Some 60 percent of employees come from other five-star hotels. The company plans to maintain the same number of employees in 2008, and to distribute more employees to the leisure and sales segments. Personnel fluctuation was 30 percent last year, especially for chefs, waiters and maids.
