“Last year was a difficult one for the company. There were several projects announced for 2007, in which we made investments, but which unfortunately did not come about. This significantly affected our results, the company’s Deputy General Manager, Thanassis Antoulinakis, told Business Standard.

The company is planning this year to focus on developing its sales force and resources for technologies in Intrarom’s portfolio. “Actually, we must rebuild our resources here. We must reposition, redefine our focus, and reorganize for current market conditions,” he said.

According to Antoulinakis, there are two important sectors on a fast-changing market such as the Romanian one - traditional telecom operators and newcomers, including alternative operators and internet services. They need new systems and services to be able to grow on the market, according to the Intrarom official.

Furthermore, large companies need increasingly more new equipment for their operations, added Antoulinakis.
